Overview

Escape the crowds and discover the laid-back vibe of Sri Lanka’s eastern shoreline.
Your journey starts with a drive to Trincomalee, where you can snorkel with reef sharks at
Pigeon Island and visit the historic Koneswaram Temple overlooking the ocean. The tour then
heads south to Arugam Bay, a surfer’s paradise known for its excellent waves and relaxed
atmosphere.
Beyond the beaches, this trip offers a mix of culture and wildlife. You will explore the lagoons of
Batticaloa and take a jeep safari in Kumana National Park, famous for its diverse birdlife and
roaming elephants. This itinerary is perfect for travelers looking for a mix of ocean adventure,
nature, and local culture.

Tour Plan

Arrival at Colombo International Airport (BIA).
Transfer to Trincomalee on the
northeast coast (approx. 5-6 hours).
Check in to your beach hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in Trincomalee or Nilaveli.

Morning boat ride to Pigeon Island for snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles.
Visit the Koneswaram Temple (Lover’s Leap) inside Fort Frederick.
Relax at Marble
Beach or visit the Kanniya Hot Water Springs.
Overnight stay in Trincomalee.

Drive along the scenic coast to Arugam Bay.
Stop in Batticaloa to see the
lagoon and historic fort.
Check in to your hotel near the surf breaks.
Overnight
stay in Arugam Bay.

Full day at leisure for surfing or swimming.
Optional surfing lessons for
beginners.
Enjoy the sunset at Elephant Rock or Whiskey Point.
